A wizard is never late...but this impression sure was.

As you may be able to glean from the title, this week's Impression of the Week is of Gandalf the Grey! "Fellowship Gandalf" is one of my favorite characters of all time, with his love of fireworks, wine, not to mention Shire folk and their pipeweed. The first time we lay eyes upon him at the outset of The Lord of the Rings films, he's humming along in his cart stocked with fireworks, and the sassy yet seemingly familial type of response he gives to Frodo which descends into uncontrollable laughter is one that has been emblazoned in my mind ever since. Ian McKellen brought to life one of the most beloved individuals in fantasy literature, and I can only hope to garner even an ounce of the spirit and character that is Gandalf.
