A Toasty Second Week

Not even a week has passed, I can’t even begin to describe how great the support and feedback has made me feel, and I can’t thank everyone enough for their words of encouragement and kindness. Truth be told it’s still surreal to be at this step and to be sharing my journey all at once, but it’s exciting to have the opportunity to connect with people as this adventure continues. In the coming weeks I hope to gain a level of comfort and ease with this concept, it’s still very new as a whole.

Fine tuning my audio and home studio setup these past couple of days, which is not a pleasant prospect given the heat here in Los Angeles and especially given that the general need to have a quiet studio means avoiding fans and A/C in studio design. Temperatures get a mite toastier than in general for my apartment, but one could make the argument it would be an effective way to shed water weight (if that were something I needed to do). The heat is actually slightly better when I’m actually standing at the microphone stand, but seated at my computer near all the electronics it becomes shirt and pants optional weather.

That being said, I am really happy with the way my studio has turned out; getting a feel for how the space records in general and how to best utilize my tech in said space has been a interesting process, playing around with how my voice interacts with the acoustics looks like a fun next step. Up next this week though is a new “Impression of the Week” so stay tuned for Thursday when I’ll be dropping that on the site, as well as writing up a short post to dissect the process and selection of impression.
